When Anxiety Comes to Call

What can you do?

When anxiety comes;

  1. Breathe
  2. Recognize it for what it is.
  3. Breathe
  4. Accept what it is.
  5. Breathe
  6. Love it. That’s right, instead of fighting it, thus giving it more fuel, see if you can appreciate that Anxiety has come to call again, and that it’s trying to tell you something. So just let it be, don’t resist, accept it.
  7. Breathe
  8. Talk to it. Let it know you see it and feel it. Treat it like an old friend that has come to call, instead of a monster you want to push away. Again, this is to not give it more fuel that comes in trying not to let it be.
  9. Breathe
  10. Realize it is letting you know you have wandered too far from home. You need to go back to your center, the home in your heart where peace lives, where you are meant to be.
  11. Breathe
  12. Do what you can to feel safe and at home in your body such as crawling in bed, pulling the covers up tight, getting a familiar object, book, tv show, to comfort you.
  13. Breathe
  14. Now you may be able to pull out your own list, and begin to put into place the things you know help. Trying to use certain resources too soon can feel as if you are fighting it. Once you have taken a breath, look at your own list of tools and resources.
  15. If you want more suggestions of tools and resources I would suggest try
    • Tapping
    • Meditate
    • Call a Friend
    • Cuddle with a pet
    • Spend time outside
    • Take Rescue Remedy
    • Keep breathing!
      It may take a few steps to be able to find your center once again. But once you are breathing you will be able to re-connect with your own wisdom and Higher Self. From there, trust Her to take good care of you!
