Be the Change You Wish to See

The true full quote of Mahatma Gandhi reads:

“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”

And so, in our turbulent times, let us remember to go within and assess what we are feeling.

So many emotions running rampant around the world. What are you feeling? Are you aware of what is driving you right now? Are you allowing your emotions to take over, or are you taking some positive action to alleviate your tension?
There are millions of reasons to be upset, outraged, frustrated, fed up, alone, guilty, and plain old afraid for the future.
So much is happening around you, and within you. What we see outside is always a reflection of a deep truth within us.
What do you see when you look outside? Do you like what you are seeing?
If not, then change needs to happen. Change begins within. Find what you want to change in yourself. What emotions do you wish you could eradicate? What do you want to feel? What vibration do you wish to exude?
What do you want to give to the world? What do you want to see happen in the world?
I don’t want things to go back to the way they were. And they won’t. I do believe that we can make some radical changes in the next year or two, and have a much better world for ourselves and our great-great granchildren.
In order for change to happen, we must be willing to face the truth. The truth within and the truth all around us.
And it begins with each one of us. If you aren’t a part of the solution, so they say…
Let’s be the change you want to see, as Gandhi said.
Let go of what you don’t want to give to the world. Let go of your own pain and anger and rage. Let go of your judgments, prejudices and fear.
Change takes time, effort, persistence, determination, focus, and love.
Believe in the change you want to see in the world, and in yourself. Then keep on releasing what you don’t want, and focusing on what you do want.
No matter what you feel called to do in the world, know the process of change must begin within. You must be the change.
Be peace. Be unity. Be harmony. Be fair. Be kind. Be love.
You may want to affirm,”I believe in positive change and I see positive change happening now, within myself and in the world around me.”
“I live by the law of love and love is now victorious!” is another one of my favorite affirmations.
If you are reading this, you are a Light-worker. You came to bring more love, light and peace to this world. So stay the course.
Turn away from the news when you need to, when it is too much. Come back to peace so you can give more of who you really are to the world around you.
Do whatever you can and try following this process:
  1. Be honest with yourself about what you are feeling
  2. Do what you can to come back to peace, such as yogic breathing, meditation, tapping, physical exercise and/or being immersed in nature.
  3. Once you are in your heart and feeling peaceful again, ask, “What is mine to do?”
  4. Take action that is appropriate for you. Do what you are asked to do, for Divinely Inspired Action is the best action.
  5. As long as you can maintain that peaceful center, send love, healing, prayerful intentions to the world.
  6. Keep an image of positive results, a peaceful world as a loving, global family.
  7. Pay attention to what Spirit puts in front of you, always asking, “What is mine to do here?” Speaking, standing up, sharing, caring as you are called to do daily.
  8. Stay focused on love, the greatest power of all. The power that will bring about incredible, miraculous positive change for all of our brothers and sisters everywhere.
Once you know exactly where you are, you can choose the direction you want to go and what you want to feel, experience and change.
Take time now to asses what’s inside you, and make a commitment to change what isn’t feeling so good into something better.

“Then a Voice said: “Behold this day, for it is yours to make. Now you shall stand upon the center of the earth to see, for there they are taking you.” I was still on my bay horse, and once more I felt the riders of the west, the north, the east, the south, behind me in formation, as before, and we were going east. I looked ahead and saw the mountains there with rocks and forests on them, and from the mountains flashed all colors upward to the heavens. Then I was standing on the highest mountain of them all, and round about beneath me was the whole hoop of the world. And while I stood there I saw more than I can tell and I understood more than I saw; for I was seeing in a sacred manner the shapes of all things in the spirit, and the shape of all shapes as they must live together like one being. And I saw that the sacred hoop of my people was one of many hoops that made one circle, wide as daylight and as starlight, and in the center grew one mighty flowering tree to shelter all the children of one mother and one father. And I saw that it was holy.”
