The Light of the Dolphins

My emotions have been running wild, chasing after negative thinking.  I know better, but my ego took over my body and is holding me hostage.  Send help.

I was praying for help yesterday to be delivered from my cycle of negative thoughts and unhappy feelings.

And then the dolphins came.  They come to me when I call.  At least when I stand in the warm waters of the Gulf.  Off the coast of Florida they have come to me.

When I was a young girl walking along the beach, my mother said I was looking for shells oblivious to the fact that a dolphin was following along with me, just a few feet from the shore.

I think I knew he was there.

When we would go boating I loved to sit and dangle my legs off the bow.  The dolphins would come and play, almost touching my feet.

When I returned to Florida a few years ago, one of our first days at the beach a voice said to me, “They’re here.”

I rose up and walked into the water.  When I was in the water up to my waist I called to them in my mind.  And they came.  And many times after, they would come.  When I needed them, they would come.

And last night they came to me in my dreams.  After swirling in negative feelings, drowning in deep waters of old pains, they came to save me.

In my dream it was night, I was on a boat, and they came.  There were dozens of them and they were lit up inside.  They each had a bright light shining inside them so I could see them even in the dark waters.  Not everyone around me could see the light, but I could.

Like the little girl again, I squeeled with delight and rejoiced that they had come.

I woke with a feeling of peace.  I looked around for my pain, but it was gone.

Thank you, to my dolphin friends.  You came, even in the mountains and in the dark of night, you came.

Whereever you are, and whatever you are feeling, help is around you.  Just call, and they will come.   Angels are all around us.  You will know them by their light.
